Roots And Threads

//What, How, Why, Who, and Where// What is up and down, but life  going through moods that matter  nothing once they are through?  🌸🍃🌸  How might I abound, but strife  release its horrid clatter  o'er my every move?  🌸🍃🌸  Why is my ev'ry sound, but rife  with pointless, mundane chatter  designed for naught anew?  🌸🍃🌸  Who am I to amount, but fife  through this unwanted platter  painted only to behoove?  🌸🍃🌸  Where's my final mound?  But life  remains in a ruined shatter  with my torn roots askew? //More Than Myself// I am a thread in a quilt,  Clinging to the unraveled fibers around me.  They say, "Pull free, be your own thread!"  🌳🌼🌳  Though I break, I will not split  For though faded, those shredding threads are what ground me;  And without seams, I'd be dead.  🍃🥀🍃  I have roots, spread far and wide  Under soil malnourished and s...

Sometimes I Wonder, Why Are We Friends?

For:  Alexa, Camille,  Cherish, Clara,  Elisabeth (Lizzy), Elizabeth V.,  Esther, Jessi,  Laura,  Lauren, Mary,  Rashida,  Rilly (GB),  Shelby. ( And all of the other amazing friends of mine.) Most of these girls have been friends of mine for over five years. Some of you have been friends of mine for half of my life. A couple of you I've only known a year or so. They say you can't be best friends with everyone.  I say that's only because it's impossible for me to meet everyone.  They say there's not enough of me to go around for everyone.  I say that God didn't give us limits when He told us to love the world.  But even so ... I'm lucky to call many my best friend, this I know. And even so, I wonder. Why are we such good friends? Sometimes I wonder,  Why you and I?  What brought us together? Why are we friends?  And why hasn't our friendship ended? Because some of my friends...

New Blog On Earth

So, one of my best friends finally started a blog. After I pestered her for MONTHS AND BEYOND. It's not your normal run-of-the mill blog. It's only for contests and challenges — meaning she hosts prompts contests and challenges and you get to create ANY KIND OF ART YOU WANT. Stories? ✔ Poems? ✔ Drawings? ✔ Paintings? ✔ Embroidery? ✔ Knitting? ✔ Carving? ✔ Use your imaginations and your fingers and it counts! So, what are you waiting for? This blog is FOR YOUR INSPIRATION . And I may have something over there waiting already  . . . yes, I won the first contest with a poem. And though I think Lauren hyped it up a bit, I do really like it myself. To read my poem, Split, Not Broken  check out Lauren's blog! And make sure to follow and  participate .  And that's it for this lovely Saturday morning.

Fear, Sleep Away

Sleep away your fears My darling.  Let your brain rest free: Light's dimming.  Forget that you care, Darling, smile. Forget the nightmare For awhile. Sleep; let your eyes dry. Time to rest. Tell your pain to fly. Just forget. Darling, sleep is calling ~ Close your eyes. Sleep is comforting ~ Restful lies.  For a night it's OK. Sleep and smile. 'Til the morning day Comes to strike. ~ KAL I used to write a lot of poetry. I rarely share of any of it, as it tends to be personal. But this I felt like sharing ;) Sometimes you are just so tired of life, and remembering, that all you want to do is sleep.  But it can be hard to sleep when the world feels dark :) And that's when you just have to remind yourself how to forget.  I hope you enjoy this poem I wrote this summer! It says I won first place at a county fair... but I didn't have any competition. Prize was like $3? I think ;D  I event...
