My Uncle Amoz

Uncle Amoz and me when I was first born. This spring one of my uncles died. It was very sad, and the circumstances of his death were crazy.  He was too young - it shouldn't have happened. All of us were shocked. Many were angry. Many still are. It's crazy how death makes life appear so differently. Especially when death happens to someone you know. What's even sadder... I wasn't able to go to his funeral because I was traveling and too far away to catch a ride with anyone that was going. This post, though, is not going to dwell on the circumstances of his death.  It's going to be more about him. I never liked to do favorites. I always told people it was wrong to have favorites... at the same time I had them ;) But to be fair I would try to make sure my siblings would have different favorites than I did. Such as... Me to my sisters : My favorite color  is pink. What are yours? Sisters : I don't know. Me to Jeru...

Laughing Tears

When life is stable you smile and laugh. You think you know what what is good, what is right, what is true. But when the sun falls – wow . Were you ever wrong. So wrong. What were you thinking? It was all an illusion… a rainbow that blinded your eyes from being able to see the truth that life is hard. Yet you are in the habit of laughing. You are in the habit of believing the best about everyone. How can you change? How can you know how to bring back the sun? You still laugh… but tears join that laughter. It is hollow and deep all at once. It hurts to laugh, to cry. But the numb feeling of just living is just as bad. Laughing tears. That is your life. Bitter-sweet. You cling to the sweet to not be overcome by the ugliness of the bitterness. But life and pain are so subtle, so mean. Like a rainbow shining in a thunder storm, so I smile as my heart cries. You don't know what lies to ignore, what truths to cling onto. Color is...

Hey?... Are You Laughing? :D

Laughter. There's something about it. You either hate it or love it. It can be distracting, addicting, or even contagious – all in good ways. Attractive, beautiful, meaningful. But hopefully it's never repulsive, obnoxious, and disturbing ;b Haha... I mean some would think so… But… really, what sort of minds do they have!? Lol. Some people will love you for your laugh. And then there will be those that hate you for it. That can sometimes be discouraging, and even make one want to quit laughing. But should you? Is laughing something that should be controlled, or is it something to be encouraged? Even in ourselves? I must say I have a very STRONG opinion on this… but first I'll share some verses. A joyful heart makes a cheerful face (smiling is the first step to laughing ;b) , But when the heart is sad, the spirit is broken. ~ Proverbs 15:13 According to Proverbs 31, the virtuous woman laughs without fear of the future. Now that might sound a lit...

Of eBooks, Real Books, and Author Kendra Ardnek

On the blog , Splendor Falls on Castle Walls, Miss Melody Muffin writes a lot about a certain author, Kendra Ardnek that writes fairy tales/fantasy stories full of comedy and Christian morals Those are just my sort of stories and I told Melody so. So, back in December when Miss Ardnek had a free ebook sale, Melody told me about it, and I downloaded them all! Lol. Now I have never read ebooks before, and I'm trying to stay away from them as much as possible. (I have this fear that ebooks will eventually replace real books, so I'm trying to mostly only read paperbacks and hardcovers :b). Anyways I just started reading the stories last month. I know. (WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!?) But.. like I said, they were ebooks. Once I started them I had to finish them all... All but one were short stories, but still I did fly through them. I must admit her books were different than what I expected but I still enjoyed them. So, here are the ones I downloaded and my thoughts on e...
