You Can Know

I have a question for you: "If you lived in Germany during the Third Reich, would you have been one of those that stood by silent as Jews were dragged away from their homes? Would have refused to believe that Jews and many others were being killed and treated inhumanly at several large concentration camps scattered throughout your home country?" Before I answer this question for myself, I want to take a break and share a story from my siblings and me.  When my Dad was in the hospitable last year for a month, my mom spent all of that time with him, I was mostly in charge of my ten younger siblings. The few just under me in age were able to take care of themselves and help out with the younger ones, too, but as the oldest one I ended up dealing with most of the messy, stressful situations that arose.  Such as making sure my younger siblings did their chores and school and not spend every moment watching movies or playing video games. The only problem was dur...

Something EXCITING Coming SOON + A Sneak Peek of Said Excitement

I'm starting another serial, y'all, and I'm super excited about it, too!  After I finished the Lawrence Children , I asked you all what you wanted to read next. Most of you said, "Please write Narnia eight!!!!!"  And I did just that.  I hoped to have the story up by January. But as you all know, stories take time to write, and that time is often longer than desired. But I did write it, and it's twelve installments long, and if I do say so myself, I quite like what happens to Susan ;D I decided to hire an editor so the story will be in the best condition possible.  So that means Susan's story won't be ready for all you dear people until March.  I'll be posting the same as before, an installment every first Monday of the month.  But I'll also be testing out the waters of Wattpad and posting there every month, too. Don't worry, blogging friends get first reads. I'll be posting on Wattpad the first Wednesday foll...

IGNORANT GRATITUDE: Thoughts From the Bonhoeffer Biography

I bought a couple books when I went to Summit  a few years back, but I didn't get around to reading two of them until  this last year. They were powerful reads, that I enjoyed tremendously. You can read my reviews of them on Goodreads. Tactics , methods and strategies for better communications and debating. Basically, how should a Christian argue? And what is winning? Bonhoeffer , biography of a theologian who was involved in a large conspiracy to overthrow/ assassinate Adolf Hitler.  In 1930 German theologian student Dietrich Bonhoeffer went to study in America. Among the many things he witnessed, he was horrified by the segregation and racism that dwelt in our country with the Negroes. He said, “Our Jewish question is a joke by comparison; there won't be many people who claim they are oppressed here.” Though racism was a huge issue for Americans in the 1930's, we all know the “Jewish question” was no joke. Time proved that racism was awful in Ameri...

"The Government Has Acted Outrageously": Bundy Trial, Update on Dr. Wetselaar, and my first blog GIVEAWAY!!!

For the last couple years ranchers and other individuals have been fighting the federal government. Sometimes they have appeared quite foolish, even to me and my family and we have been supporting them for a long time. For most of the world, few have been able to understand the Bundys or those that stood with the family against the government. When telling others about what was happening I was often confronted with these statements: "Our government isn't that bad." And you know this because they told you this, right? "They should just submit. Read Romans 13." It's funny how people will preach and twist Romans 13, a small chapter, and forget what the rest of the Bible says about our basic rights and loving one another. "I don't believe what you are saying. If this were really happening we'd hear about it in the news." Since when has the news told us the whole truth? Their big day that decided what would happen was Jan...

Henri Wetselaar, WWII Survivor and Family Doctor: Oldest Man Sentenced To Prison

My Speech August 1 2017 – Henri Wetselaar Good morning, Your Honor. Thank you very much for giving me a chance to speak. I was born in The Netherlands in 1924. My parents were both dentists. On May 10 1940 our country was invaded and occupied by the German Army. We were angry and formed the “Dutch Underground Army” (also called “The Resistance”). We wore no uniforms we tried to carry out acts of sabotage against the Germans. – I was 16 and I tried to remove a German flag. – I was caught by the Germans and I was to be executed by a firing squad in 12 hours. – Miraculously I got out of that – I was active in the Underground for 4 years and 4 times I was to {be} within an inch of being killed. – We saved the lives of several Jewish people and I was involved in the situation of Ann Frank, the girl of the famous war story (the book and movie) of “The Diary of Ann Frank”. In October of 1944 we were liberated by the Allied Forces under General Montgomery. I was badly wounde...

Brothers-In-Arms {Jack Lewis Baillot}

I recently had the honor to review read a copy of Jack's book Brothers-in-Arms. Amazon Goodreads My review on Goodreads Back Cover: Franz Kappel and Japhet Buchanan never expected their friendship to be tested by the Third Reich.  Friends from early childhood, the boys form an inseparable, brotherly bond. Growing up in a little German village, they escape most of the struggles of war until the day Japhet is banished from school for being a Jew, and later has a rib broken when other village boys beat him up. Franz learns he is putting himself in danger for spending so much time with Japhet but continues to stand up for his Jewish friend even at the risk to himself. Then one day their lives are shattered when they see first-hand that the price of being a Jew is dangerously high.  With the war now on their doorsteps, Franz and Japhet come up with a desperate plan to save their families and get them out of Germany alive. Leaving behind the lives they've alwa...
