A Guitar Pick Substitute

One of those days where I decided to just be wonky and record it. Posting here because too lazy to create in-depth content.

Why Domesticated Chickens Should Be Exiled

There's a common chicken fetish that needs addressing. But first, why your chickens don't deserve to have sweaters knitted for them:  Chickens are the farmyard cockroach  They are violent, not cute. One of my earliest memories is of being attacked by a vicious rooster. Did you know that they were first bred for fighting before eating according to Wikipedia?  They don't even taste that good (naturally grown) Commercially grown chicken tastes alright, but who knows what is making it that way They destroy gardens They terrorize flowers Sure, they make good compost. But do you want your compost spread everywhere on your farm?   A good mother hen is a rarity  They don't take care of ticks and snakes near as well as guineas The stench of butchered chickens lasts for days after multiple baths. One does not easily eat a chicken after having slaughtered it, whereas other animals are less gross and easier to stomach  Eggs are good. But chickens aren'...

Life is A Game; So Play It Well

I think life is a big game we play ~  Eric Cantona  "I'm done. With everything, but mostly with life." "Oh?" I asked. "I just don't get the point anymore. Life is just a stupid  game." "But ... that's the point. Only, to play the game well." My cynical friend stared at me, then let his eyes roll, obviously not impressed by my making light of his having made fun of life. If he'd just listened to me for a moment longer, I would have said something of substance. Instead he walked away from me and right off the edge of a cliff, ending his game of life forever. Life is a song - sing it. Life is a game - play it. Life is a challenge - meet it. Life is a dream - realize it. Life is a sacrifice - offer it. Life is love - enjoy it ~ Sai Baba As a want-to-be distinguished chess lover and player, I strongly believe that life is the greatest game and that many people under appreciate this. Or run away from the fact, as i...

How My Polls Accelerated

It's getting popular to post things on one's "story" on Facebook of Instgram ... a picture with a optinal line of text, or a poll; and it lasts for just twenty four hours. I don't do it much because if I post something I want it to last ... but I have been sharing some of my other posts to my story to garner more traction. Also. The polls on Facebook no longer work anywhere but in the stories. So I've had to accept that, and try them out. Because I love learning people's opinions. And it would seem people are a little more receptive to answering a story poll rather than am actual post poll. I have no idea why. Here are my first five FB story polls!  1. What color to embroider my dragon's horns?   Thoughts: At first I was getting only blue votes and while I had previously been unsure of what color to do, I was suddenly sure that I did not want blue, and I now realized why democracy isn't a fool proof method of choosing. I started...

All The Ways To /NOT/ Spell My Name

My favorite postcard, sent from my Dad to me when he was in Guatemala when I was nine years old.  Most of the time I've VERY forgiving when people mispronounce/ misspell my name. Actually, I'm usually surprised when someone gets my name right ( if they don't know me). I expect people to say my name a good fifty times before remembering it, and I don't expect strangers to ever remember how to spell my name. I mean, I think it'd be unfair of me to be otherwise with such a name as I have.  None of this is to say that I don't like my name. I love my name. But I also know that my name is not common, and as a result, the reality is that my name will be difficult for many.  All that being said, I do love giving people a hard time about my name, especially if I like you ;)  Maybe it's cruel, but I find it funny how people slaughter my name and then become flustered. The only times I get slightly annoyed is when people misspell my name through FB me...

Poison Ivy Essential Oil

This is the surprise I mentioned last week . Now, please don't be sad and say, "This is ridiculous." Laughing is good to do, especially around April Fool's Day, yes? Picture taken by my sister, Jerushah. Picture taken by my sister, Jerushah.  If you remember, awhile back I posted a flash fiction on my blog called  Crazy as Poison Ivy . This story was inspired by true life events ;) Meaning ... it actually happened, I just wrote that story as fiction.  La'el is my friend, Rashida La'el. And she actually thinks this is funny. She is the only one getting a free essential oil ... sorry, these things actually cost me a bit to make, despite being a completely ridiculous joke.  Please, don't feel like you have to buy one to laugh, though. The pictures can be enjoyed in and of themselves ( I hope ).  But if you would like to support a crazy artist, definitely buy yourself a fake essential oil!  These bottles are sealed and fille...

An Experience With Horses

It was an ordinary office day. Work was great. Shelby and I were having fun. I madethe same stupid, crazy jokes, Shelby gave me the same looks. The image below came from something I said that day... it was too funny that I had to make a meme of it. :) But all day long my mind wasn't really on the office work or on the fun we were having, but what I would be doing that evening – horse riding. For it was a beautiful sunny day! A friend and I had gone a few times before, but our time had always been limited. This time we had a couple hours all free to just ride. (Oh – and we were riding bare-back, and I wasn't so experienced ;b) I quickly got ready. I put on a full, tye-dyed skirt, leggings, and a comfortable t-shirt. And ran downstairs. My arrow head necklace bounced against my throat. “Wow,” I thought. “this arrow-head could bounce up as I'm riding and stab me in the throat and kill me.” What a thought. But I was too lazy to be bothered with ...

New From Thrift

Thriftstores can be really fun!! I found most of this outfit at one yesterday. It just shows, that you don't have to have lots of money to find nice clothes :b Shoes: $2 Skirt: $1 Green Shirt: $2 Pink tank top: handmedown Necklace: got it at a thrift a while back Denim jacket: goodwill for like $3? Total : somewhere around $8. And to complete the outfit! My dad found these glasses in a car of his. They look rather neat :D Keziah likes them, too. "Hey, keep them on!" That's better. Keilah doesn't like them as much.... But she'll get over it. Jerushah has a really great business idea! She wonders if "baby baskets" wouldn't sell? Baby included. Lol, ;)
