What I WON'T Do IF I Ever Become A Bestselling Author

I would so love to see my books on store shelves someday. It would be amazing if I had fans that raved about my stories and ranted in ways I'd never do (because I'm very calm, for the most part). And if they did this in public. I'd be happy, even approve, of such unacceptable behavior. Call me a hypocrite, I don't care ;) Of course, my ultimate goal is to just write a story that touches others. Money and popularity are NOT the reason I write.  But dreams can go beyond goals, yes?  IF I EVER BECOME A BESTSELLING AUTHOR I WON'T . . .  . . . believe it. How could I? My stories aren't near good enough . . . are they!? Is it the glasses, or am I just bad at dramatic selfies? ;D  . . . buy a brand new sports car. Because that's just a waste of money. Practical and cheap will still work very well for me. Love my Volvo ;D  . . . quit cleaning houses. Now I might clean less. But I don't think I could ever stop completely...

I Had a Little Troll, But It Wasn't Cute

So... had an interesting cyber experience this summer as a result of going to federal court with my Dad in Nevada - my first personal experience with trolls.  A lot of my dad's friends seem to not like it so much (I guess having lies told about you constantly isn't the most fun) but to be honest everything that was said was so outrageous I found it hilarious.  Yes, I laughed. A lot.  I mean - publicity is good, whether positive or not, yes? Lol... not exactly ;p  But still - very funny. I think you all remember I went to a writer's conference in July? I wrote about it here .  Now, some info for y'all. My dad does politics full time. Meaning he attends all the trials for the men involved with the Bundies and other men who are being prosecuted, as my Dad feels, wrongly. He updates the public through his Facebook page, reaching thousands of people and telling them what happens in the courtroom. Letting many people know about things that t...

Is It Wise For You To Read This Unfortunate Series?

If you are reading this post you are probably considering whether or not you should read  A Series of Unfortunate Events . I am here to tell you that you will hear two different answers to your question. Lemony Snicket:  Absolutely not. Unless you just enjoy being completely depressed, soaked in the puddles of your own tears. Me:  Absolutely, yes. I'm not sure what is the matter with the author. But you won't shed tears… at least not many. The only one who is very dimwitted wouldn't laugh over these warm-hearted children's books. Lemony Snicket:   Warm-hearted!  The only thing that is ever warm is the blood spilled by vicious villains! No, do not listen to Keturah. These books of mine are full of miserable accounts concerning the lives of the Baudelaire orphans. Many of which consist of very cold, sleepless, frightening nights. Me:  I'm sorry, dear readers. We will say goodbye to Mr. Snicket, as he isn't in the most positive mood today. ...

How to be Depressed

This world is too happy. Look at the smiles everywhere! It's disgusting. Wide mouthed laughter? Squinting eyes? I mean, come on. Why!? People being nice to each other for no reason. It's not right. It's not realistic. It's disaster waiting to happen. And that is why I intend to bring it down…. show you all exactly how to be depressed in just a few short easy steps. Because, if we want to get rational, there is no point being happy for a time when we know that everything ends in death. That's right. Death. Dark, lonely, depressing death. Wipe that smile off your face… hey, even kill the imaginary one in your soul. Because it is time to bleed and cry. To feel terrible, worthless, pessimistic. 1. Just eat it. I don't care if it's full of sugar. Or chemicals. Or whatever they call garbage this day. If it tastes good, eat it. Perfect first ingredient to creating lethargy in your life. And lethargy means certain depression. ...

Of eBooks, Real Books, and Author Kendra Ardnek

On the blog , Splendor Falls on Castle Walls, Miss Melody Muffin writes a lot about a certain author, Kendra Ardnek that writes fairy tales/fantasy stories full of comedy and Christian morals Those are just my sort of stories and I told Melody so. So, back in December when Miss Ardnek had a free ebook sale, Melody told me about it, and I downloaded them all! Lol. Now I have never read ebooks before, and I'm trying to stay away from them as much as possible. (I have this fear that ebooks will eventually replace real books, so I'm trying to mostly only read paperbacks and hardcovers :b). Anyways I just started reading the stories last month. I know. (WHAT TOOK YOU SO LONG!?) But.. like I said, they were ebooks. Once I started them I had to finish them all... All but one were short stories, but still I did fly through them. I must admit her books were different than what I expected but I still enjoyed them. So, here are the ones I downloaded and my thoughts on e...

Movies Worth Watching Post #1

So, we all know that movies have a huge impact on us. They inspire, teach, discourage, guide, and so much more. I love movies with a strong plot. Effects and all those awesome little things that give a movie depth. I love a movie that is well-made ( to all of those out there that know the book lover I am - no, I'm not turning traitor. Books still top it on my list. But there are some pretty good movies ). So, everyone, I'm going to do a two part blog post on two of my new favorite movie makers... and these two have lots of talent - and comedy! Today's will be about a small independent company called Heumoore Productions. We first saw their movie in the Vision Forum catalogue. For some reason the movie caught our kids' attention. We ordered it off of Amazon ( since the catalogue is no longer available). I tell you, it was sooo good! THE WIDOW'S MIGHT five stars ( I don't care for what others may say about the poor acting or such. It was fabul...
