Silly Putty

Last month I brought a few of my siblings to where I babysit and we made silly putty ! It was very fun - I think they all had fun, at least ;p. It was also extremely messy. Or appeared so. In reality it cleaned up quick as one of the main ingredients was dish soap. Supplies and ingredients.  The dish soap also worked as a coloring - so they all had fun picking of the three choices I had available: green, orange, and pink. It's actually turning out great! And a kid did this!? It looks worse than it really was. It washed off of his hands in seconds. This mess looks horrid. And it looks like it stuck onto things, which it did. But water freed the cornstarch and the soap in the cornstarch helped the process. This was the first time I'd tried to make silly putty. And of, course I was supervising kids doing it. So it was very interesting. I liked the recipe I found - pinterest can sometimes be a handy place ;p I...

First off: Sorry that I didn't post last Wednesday. I sort of have a good excuse. Well, not really. I should have prepared a post still. But anyways, here's my excuse!!! Enjoy!!! This last week found me in my other life - TN!!! Once I got there, it almost seemed I had never left! It was a week full of fun, excitement, friends, and more. Too much happened - it almost felt like a month of fun!!!!! Here are some of my favorite pictures while there - spotlights of fantastic memories! I can rarely get Cherish (the girl on the far right) to take pictures.. but on my last day she decided to be nice :) and she put a lot of energy into those photo's. LOL We three girls went on an early morning hike/ walk and really got to catch up, laugh, sing, and just have fun :) Meeting friends at the airport! Some were old friends, some new :) I was so excited to see the little girl on the right! One of my best friends and secret-keepers. I got to spend a day at her house. It ...

Creative Limitation: Writing Contest!!

One of my great friends has the blog floor today to tell you about this fun contest that she is wanting to get started!!! Make sure to join in on the fun!!!!! ~ Keturah  Hello! I’m Lauren, one of Keturah’s friends. I’m a fellow writer, reader, etc. As a result of this I had this great idea the other day. Stored up in my strange mind are several ideas for writing contests. I have them tucked away, hoping that someday I can use them. Well, I was thinking about blogging and thought it would be cool to have writing contests on a blog! I don’t have a blog of my own so I asked Keturah if I could guest post on hers! So who’s ready for some writing contests? I really don’t know much about hosting a contest so let’s start with something simple. Something easy but creative and fun. Six word stories will be our first contest!!!! What is a six word story? It’s exactly what it sounds like. It’s a story that’s only six words long.  It’s hard to do...

How to Blog With A Cell Phone #2

Hey!  Life where I'm at is busy... but still trying to keep up with my promised post of the week. Amidst work, friends, and kittens, it's pretty tough though. Haha :D ;b Most pictures on my blog I take with my cell phone...except this one of course ;) A while back I did this terrible post  explaining how I blog. Yeah... I still blog with my cell phone, and after like 80+ posts... I hope they are finally getting better... I finally did get a laptop. But my phone has become the natural way to blog... so it's a little difficult transferring everything over. For example, right now I'm too lazy to turn on the laptop, so it's back to the cell phone ;) Of course, a picture of the kittens staying in my room ;) What all do I do and what has changed since the beginning? 1. Well, I got a new phone which has an awesome pink case. This phone allows me to upload pictures straight from it. On my last phone I had to use a place...

The Art of Journaling

All the diaries I've completed. HOW IT ALL STARTED There's something about my journaling. It's the sign of the end of my day. Even when I'm tired, I cant rest until I've got my thoughts, joys and frustrations out in my diary. And once I do, I sleep so good. I've always written. For as long as I can remember I loved to write stories. I always believed I would someday be published, but after I died. When I was little I knew that someday someone would find my stuff and then publish it. For some reason I never considered the option of actually publishing it myself. I loved to read about other authors (most of which are dead.) I thought it sad that we knew little some of them. Because of that I decided I would make sure people could find enough about me, for after I was dead, so they could have a nice sized biography on me. Thus when I was 11 I started journaling every day. In fact, since then, I've only missed 4-5 days and I...
