"Why weep for your hair when your head's cut off?"

"I want to live life," I said.  "You may!" Called all the books on the thrift store shelves. "Own and us a million lives shall be yours!" And yet, how easily I forfeited those lives when one particular life beckoned me to lay my bookish self aside and  travel.  I stopped hiding my hair under a plaid hat and became the fiery, sweet  Ruby girl  that one either loved or hated. I never had time to read, but I was making time to write stories, my only solace through those days when I wished for less drama and more tolerance, where I hated that I always had to defend beliefs I cared little for as I inwardly battled deeper questions none could understand because all they saw was that I wore dresses and didn't celebrate Christmas. I stepped on my first plane and sat by a boy for two weeks, a feat for a timid girl who couldn't carry a conversation with  any  guy, as I learned about some of what I  might  believe. I learned to love hiking, and suddenly...

I Lust You: A Romance Story

Sometimes I like to write stories with pictures. Once upon a time I actually wanted to be a children's book illustrator... I thought I loved drawing. But then I realized I was a better writer than artist. Plus I love writing more :D  Yet, at times... art is still quite fun ;D  This is my 200th post. I think that's kinda exciting ;D If you actually count the posts you will only find 199. This is because of my blog being redesigned ( one of my best friends is very techy! ). So that means I'm going through old posts and getting rid of pictures that I wasn't allowed to use ( I was ignorant with picture laws when I started blogging ) and adding tags. One post was all pictures that weren't mine, so I deleted that ;p

Standing Against Society's Expectations

Do you ever wonder what you are supposed to do with your life? How to live it? Honor and respect those that you should, balancing between doing what you should and what others (family, friends, and even the world) think you should? You don't want to be a bum. You want a successful life. But who gets to decide what is successful? Who decides what makes one educated and accomplished? By whose standards are you going to pursue a meaningful life? Even those of us that will answer "God's" still have more than enough choices. This world is not an easy place to live. And I realize this more and more each passing year. People are so caught up in a struggle of surviving that most can't breathe. But we are told we have no other choice. Society's Plan We must graduate from the designated 12 years of school, which includes all the subjects that they feel are necessary for every individual to know. Then we must go to ...

Love at First Sight: A Myth

This is going to be a strange post. And honestly, I'm not sure why I'm sharing these ideas of mine with the world - besides the partial fact, that I think they are very important. And a couple of my friends said I should 😀Some of these friends are married... and agree with my points. So, I'd have to say that's something ;)  I'm just hoping what I say all makes sense when I put it down into words. Lol. Enjoy a new *unique* thought ;) I love fairy tales. They are some of the best stories ever. But some of the ideas in modern fairy tales are sort of twisted up.  Love at first sight.  Finding your one and only match.  Love makes all good, and lasts forever.  And once you have had that first kiss you shall live forever and ever, happily ever after. Now, I'm not trying to depress you, but love at first sight is silly and unreal. It doesn't happen. One can argue for infatuation at first sight. That I'll go for. But not love. ...

Summit ( The Place You Should Go Next Summer :b )

This summer has been so fun and awesome! How has it been for you all? I've been so busy with work and having a blast that I've had little time - or will - for writing. But I'll be getting back on track now :D The last two weeks of July have been the best weeks of my life. Why? I was at a place in Manitou Springs, Colorado called Summit Ministries . But it wasn't the place that made it so great. It was Summit. "Summit? What is that?" "It's a place to go to learn about what I believe and why I believe it to see if I really believe what I think I believe and if so, how I believe that and can I prove what I believe is what I actually believe." Old Testament belonging to Josh McDowell Lolol. Sorta... ;) This is a question that can't be answered in a few minutes - at least not thoroughly enough by me. I can just keep talking and talking about it forever - and then some more. :D In a short sentence, Summit is a p...
