Now, all of my blogging friends seem to actually be readers. That's part of why I love you guys. But whenever I share a post on Facebook, it seems that people only read the title and reply to that 95% of the time.

I've received so many long-winded lectures telling me how I'm twisting or nullifying scripture. And it's so obvious that the offended person never even read what I wrote.

And it's annoying, y'all.

So, this post is for all the Facebook people that reply to titles instead of the full content.

Not that they'll read this either. But one can always hope.

Guys, it took me way too long to figure out how to say the nine words above.I nearly decided on: Guys are darling idiots and girls are puddles of emotions. I still really like that one . . . maybe a future, slightly more serious blog post? What do you think?

  1. Not gonna lie, I was really confused when I saw paragraphs of the same sentence. XD But I definitely get your point! And now I’m curious to see what happens on Facebook. . . . :)

    1. Haha, I'm sure it would be confusing ;p I'm curious, too ... so far, no one seems to be biting ;D Guess people are even lazier readers than I thought ;p

  2. Oh, it is so annoying when people do that! I like that you are experimenting with this.

    1. Super annoying! Yes, haha, one of my most fun experiments I have to say ;D

  3. At first I thought you were trying to do some sort of Lemony Snicket parody or something... But this is kind of funnier!

    1. Hahaha! Well, I do love Lemony Snicket, so that would be funny ... I take that as an extremely high compliment to be called funnier than he ;)

  4. Ooh this is a really good point! Luckily all my readers seem to take the time to read my posts (I'm so grateful for that), but I can't tell you how many times I've seen arguments started on social media when someone notices one little trigger word and then launches into a full-on lecture that doesn't even relate to the content. XD

    1. Yes, I have so many amazing blog readers, it's just social media that gives me the trouble ... guess it's too hard to actually follow the link and see what I might actually be talking about ;) But when it's really obvious people aren't replying to my full content, it's actually pretty funny and gives me tons of laughs ;D

  5. HA I love this. I get what you're saying and it's soooo annoying. Like...a person wrote this, how many people take the time to *read* it?

Gotta say, part of me agrees with the phrase "Men are darling idiots and women are puddles of emotion." It's a great phrase full of hyperbolic truth, methinks.

    1. Thanks! Yeah, no kidding. I even try to make my posts nice and short for reader's convenience. But tbh, I don't think I can make my posts short enough for some. I mean, most posts need more than nine words, right ;)

Ah, I'm so glad you love that sentence! I felt it was partly true, too, as well as humorous ;) Also, it's kinda controversial and could make people mad in and of itself. So, yeah, has all the makings of a great line ;)

  6. Hmmm, I don't understand why people would do that. I want to know what the post is about before commenting.

    1. Me, too! But people on FB are very good at not reading the full content/ context before jumping into an argument ;)

  7. Ugh, I've never experienced this myself but I've seen it happen. And it BUGS me! It doesn't take that much intelligence to just READ whatever it is you claim to have paid attention to before you comment on it. xD

  8. I TOTALLY AGREE. If you plan on commenting, it's common sense to have read the ENTIRE post before commenting, IS IT NOT?? Haha, great post! xD

    1. Right!? Common sense AND common courtesy ;D

Though I don't blame any one that skimmed through most of this post ;D Reading the same nine words over and over can get a bit dull ;D

  9. HA this is funny. But I can imagine how annoying it would be for people to take issue with what you wrote without first reading it. Come on, people.
I rather like the "Guys are darling idiots and girls are puddles of emotions" one too. :D For one, "darling idiots" is exactly the perfect description for a number of men of my acquaintance, though it does still seem to me that women are getting rather the short end of the stick...I'd definitely be interested in a more serious post along those lines if you decide to write that. :D

    1. It is annoying! I mean, how can anyone debate if they don't even know what they are talking about? Takes all the fun out of it ;D

Thanks! You definitely have me excited to write that post ;)

  11. Facebook is the worst for that. People never seem to read anything.
    Love this! XD

  12. This is an interesting experiment for sure, haha. I am curious to see how it turns out, though I have to say I disagree with the content in a general sense. XD

    1. So far, most people realized it was a trick and /tried/ to read the post. Some said it was a bit repetitive, and they weren't sure if they were reading the title or the post ;) I also got quite a few "intelligent" answers about why one would read comments first, or read the post/ title and then comment and why ... and then I got a few #ouch. Overall, the atmosphere around this post has been very lighthearted and fun—just my sort of thing, and the best way to make a point ;)
And yeah, the main content isn't meant to be agreed with, but meant to be controversial and offensive all in a satirical and humorous way ;)
THANKS FOR STOPPING BY AND COMMENTING, Emily ;D

Living Like The Amish: Interviews With Three "English" Families PART I

Many people are obsessed with the Amish. I know at one time I was as well, and to a degree I still am. But my perception  has changed with experience. It started a long time ago when my family went to an Amish-held auction (no, it's not a place where you can buy Amish children, but a place where you can buy things from the Amish). I was eleven years old and enthralled to be surrounded by so many Amish. I loved the cockscomb flowers they sold everywhere. I bought a whole box for $2 and dried them for seeds so I could plant my own. But then I experienced my first reality shock concerning the Amish. I had assumed since they lived a simpler life everything about them was completely old-fashioned and natural. Imagine my horror when I saw Amish walking around with soda cans and store-bought ice cream. " Mom ," I said. "He's drinking soda!"  Left to right, back row: Jonny, Jonathan (Dad). Front row: Jacob, Keturah, Rebekah (Mom), Jonah (on Mom's

How Bad Can I Be?: Lyrics That Make You Go "Wow!"

Peace During Patience

“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” - Philippians 4:6 My family and I were sitting around the breakfast table several months ago. Mom had just read this verse. One of the kids laughed incredulously, “What is it saying? Be careful for nothing – live recklessly?” “No,” I answered quickly. My tone was very matter-of-fact, blunt, as if I were all-knowing. “It means do not worry.” The kids all nodded among themselves and life continued on for them. But for me life paused at my words. I had heard this verse soooooooo many times. I had always known what it meant. But now? Now it really meant something . “Do not worry.” This path I've chosen. I can not see it. I can not feel it. I do not know where I am. I have chosen to follow God, and no other. But why did He hide the light from my eyes? I must take a step forward. But I do not want to. How long w

Inside The Land Of The Free

Hello. My name is Greg.  I have a lot of time to think. Too much time. Sometimes I think about my life - why I am sitting in prison. I wonder what I could have done different - my life plays before my eyes. "If only..." But even I know that no amount of good works would have stopped tyranny from finding fault with me. It is cold. My clothes are thin. My stomach is empty - occasionally filled with food of no sustenance.  I hide my face in my knees - as if that will somehow protect me from the horrors of this dark cold dungeon.  They keep it cold to freeze me, this I know. It is a part of their game - to drive a lesson into me. As if I have a lesson to learn solely because I was convicted. Convicted, but not  guilty. Years.  68 years for standing against injustice. How many years have I sat in here? I have forgot. All I know is this question, "Was I fated for this? Did God grant my birth
